- Round 2 No. 34
- Round 3 No. 65
- Round 3 No. 99 (compensatory selection)
- Round 4 No. 105
- Round 5 No. 154 (from Seattle)
- Round 7 No. 219
- Round 7 No. 246 (from Buffalo)
Below are the latest projections by draft analysts for the Giants at No. 3. They will be updated as new ones are published.
Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"In Sanders, New York would get a super accurate passer (74.0% completion rate in 2024) who is tough as nails. Despite taking the most sacks in the FBS over the past two seasons (94), he also tied for second in touchdown passes during that time frame (64)."
Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Media
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"I'll be curious to see what the Giants do here. If Abdul Carter is available at No. 3, that might change things, but in this scenario, they secure their answer at quarterback."
Charles Davis, NFL Media
Pick:Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis:"I wouldn't rule out a quarterback for the Giants here if Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders were available, even after the signings of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. With the top QBs already off the board in this mock, New York lands the prospect many believe is the best player in the draft."
Dane Brugler, The Athletic
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"Ward is widely viewed as the top guy this year, but the quarterback rankings after him vary wildly from team to team."
Eric Edholm, NFL.com
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"Hunter would give the Giants another elite talent after last year's top-10 selection of Malik Nabers. Not to mention, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner could probably start for New York at either corner or receiver right away, so Big Blue almost can't go wrong here."
Field Yates, ESPN
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders' ball placement and ability to throw with touch are outstanding traits."
Bucky Brooks, NFL.com
Pick:Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis:"Adding a two-way standout doesn't solve the Giants' most pressing need, but Hunter's playmaking presence would help the offense and defense improve."
Matt Miller, ESPN
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders is an accurate, tough pocket passer who improved the culture at both Jackson State and Colorado alongside his father and coach, Deion Sanders. Shedeur Sanders is poised, with great field vision and an ability to throw his guys open from the pocket."
Jordan Reid, ESPN
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"Ward is the top QB of this class. His combination of physical ability, improvisational skills and poise in big moments make him an ideal selection for coach Brian Daboll. His 88.7 QBR was second in the FBS, and his 29 completions of 20-plus air yards tied for fifth."
Josh Liskiewitz, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis:"It's hard not to see some Micah Parsons in Carter, who not only wears the same No. 11 but also pops off the screen nearly every play due to being a rare caliber athlete. If he can get even stronger, he has All-Pro potential as a player worthy of a top-five pick."
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"If you don't have a quarterback, you have to get one. Sanders might not have the biggest arm, but he throws with timing and anticipation. The Giants have to do something, so why not take a shot on Sanders with a chance to land him?"
Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pick:Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis:"Carter is a terrific fit for the Giants' defense and should add immediate impact, which the team needs."
Cynthia Frelund, NFL Network
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"The Giants must sort out the offensive line in free agency if they end up taking a quarterback here. Ward's ability to limit turnovers while extending plays would get this offense back on track and open up Brian Daboll's play-calling. It's worth noting that there were simulations in which New York traded down a few spots and selected an offensive lineman instead (such as Kelvin Banks Jr., who has plenty of experience and can play RT); in those scenarios, the Giants would likely look to add a veteran passer in free agency and/or select one later in April's draft."
Danny Kelly, The Ringer
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"With Ward off the board, the Giants grab one of the most dynamic players in recent memory in Hunter. The former Heisman winner provides a big impact at two separate positions of need for New York. My guess right now is that he'll play full time at corner and moonlight at receiver, but he just may be the type of outlier athlete who can play both sides of the ball full time."
Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"He's a serious-minded quarterback with a big arm and the ability to grow into a dangerous pitch-and-catch combo with Malik Nabers."
Mason Cameron, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders has a strong foundation as a passer, with fundamentally sound throwing mechanics that give him the tools to develop at the next level. However, his most impressive trait may be his ability to limit mistakes. Since moving to the FBS, he has produced a negatively graded throw on just 10.9% of his dropbacks, a 97th-percentile mark."
Nick Baumgardner, The Athletic
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"Hunter immediately would improve whichever room he touches."
Chad Reuter, NFL.com
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"As the son of Coach Prime, Sanders has lived in the spotlight his entire life. So I don't think the New York stage will be too big for him. That said, for the the Giants to maximize their new QB's talents, they must improve the offensive line and find more playmakers to team with Malik Nabers."
Trevor Sikkema, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"There are rumors of New York trading up to No. 1 overall for its preferred quarterback (I assume it's Cam Ward), but I'll leave that scenario for another mock. Instead, I could see them drafting the best football player in the class, Travis Hunter, and being very happy about what he and Malik Nabers can do for them for years to come."
Ryan Wilson, CBS Sports
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"Travis Hunter is the best athlete in this draft class. We've had otherworldly cornerbacks and wide receivers in previous classes but he's a two-fer, able to dominate on both sides of the ball and take over games. The big question is where will the team that drafts him want him to play? And if it's, say, at cornerback, how big is the package of offensive plays? Because lining up for 120 snaps a game, like he did for the Buffs, isn't sustainable in the NFL."
Rob Rang, FOX Sports
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"He leaves college football as the all-time passing touchdowns champion (158) and his steady improvement as a passer is undeniable."
Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd Team
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"If this feels like the worst kept secret in sports, it is because it probably is. The Giants are in the quarterback market."
Nate Tice, Yahoo Sports
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"After seeing QBs get picked off in front of them, the Giants instead veer toward star power. Hunter is an excellent athlete and has a rare feel for the cornerback position. With Malik Nabers already showing off his star potential at receiver, there's no need to overwhelm Hunter as a two-way player right away."
Mike Renner, CBS Sports
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders has a solid frame and stature to become an NFL quarterback. He has been highly efficient throughout his collegiate career completing more than 70% of his pass attempts."
Geoff Schwartz, Fox Sports
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"Hunter addresses two issues for the Giants elite cornerback play and another weapon for Russell Wilson or their quarterback of the future. I firmly believe Hunter should be a full-time corner with a package of offensive plays. That is manageable, and it's how he was originally used at Colorado. By taking Hunter, the Giants add a supreme talent to a roster that needs an infusion of playmakers."
Connor Rogers, NBC Sports
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Unless Penn State's Drew Allar ends up declaring, Ward and Sanders are the only two quarterbacks I see going in the first round."
Dan Parr, NFL.com
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"If the G-Men decide to go the trade or free agency route to find their next QB and manage to keep the No. 3 pick, they could find themselves able to land the Heisman Trophy winner, too, who could help them on both sides of the ball."
Josh Edwards, CBS Sports
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"The debate of best player available boils down to Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter, in my opinion. With Carter off the board, New York goes in the direction of Hunter, who could fill either or both cornerback and wide receiver roles for that organization. Wide receiver is less of a need with Darius Slayton back in the fold."
Daniel Harms, The Draft Network
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders will be able to handle the media stress of the New York market while providing the Giants with their future quarterback."
Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports
Pick: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
Analysis:"Whoever is eventually the starter for the Giants in 2025 will need to be better protected than past quarterbacks in the Brian Daboll era. Membou is a powerful blocker with elite testing numbers."
Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"The Giants need to consider quarterback early, but it will also be difficult to ignore that Hunter may fall right into their lap to be an instant ball-hawking defensive star in New York while also giving Malik Nabers some receiving help at times."
Gennaro Filice, NFL.com
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"In the hypothetical world of this mock draft, Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll address the quarterback position in the veteran market, allowing New York to take the two-way star out of Colorado. In the real world, longtime beat writer Paul Schwartz says the Giants see Hunter as a cornerback, allowing me to say I'm filling a major need with this pick (... while also knowing Daboll wouldn't be able to resist giving the Heisman Trophy winner offensive snaps alongside Malik Nabers)."
Max Chadwick, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"His 49 big-time throws since 2023 tied for fifth, and his 1.6% turnover-worthy play rate in that span ranked second to only Bo Nix. Sanders also was recently seen playing catch with Giants star receiver Malik Nabers in the streets of New York."
Keith Sanchez, The Draft Network
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"I believe the front office sees a lot of parallels between Eli Manning and Sanders, and the Giants may be attempting to recreate that magic."
Ryan Fowler, The Draft Network
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"Cam Ward isn't a perfect prospect under center, but his confidence, poise, and ability to threaten a defense both vertically and horizontally will expand a playbook. Ward and Malik Nabers would be a fun, youth-infused tandem to watch develop over the next few years."
Mason Johnstone, The Draft Network
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"The Giants secure the best quarterback in the draft to pair with Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka's offense. Cam Ward joined a strong group of Power 4 quarterbacksJayden Daniels, Hendon Hooker, C.J. Stroud, Mac Jones, Joe Burrow, and Kyler Murraywho have led the nation in total offense, and his trajectory should be similar to others on that list."
Garrett Podell, CBS Sports
Pick:Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis:"After missing out on the two first-round QB prospects in this class, the Giants settle for the 2025 class' top edge rusher."
